Welcome to Our Website

Many seniors wish to stay in their homes as long as possible but need some assistance to do so. I offer help with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, groceries, and safe keeping. At times I'm needed simply for companionship, to enjoy a nice chat, reading, playing cards or perhaps just listening. I provide the same services at retirement homes.

As parents and grandparents age, family members can suddenly find themselves in a position of care giving and advocacy. With work and family obligations this can be very stressful and affect valuable family time. I have personally experienced this and have a real passion to help others who face this challenge.

I am insured and have up-to-date St. John Ambulance First Aid and CPR. I also have current police clearance to work with the vulnerable sector. I offer flexible options and will tailor my services to meet individual needs. I offer reasonable rates and free assessments.

Please contact me to talk about how I can help your loved ones or anyone you know needing assistance. I can be reached at 905-706-5794 or e-mail me at diane@helpinghandsathome.ca

I will provide the type of care you want for your loved ones. I will also provide peace of mind for you.

I highly recommend Diane Robertson . She was an excellant caregiver to my Mom who has dementia. She's very compassionate, attentive to ones needs. I found it emotionally draining each day listening to repeated statements. Diane was a ray of sunshine in our lives. My Mom adores her , she said she's my pal. It was so comforting to know Mom was in such great hands , I totally felt at ease when Diane would take Mom out.We are so grateful for Diane. We really love her and trust her. A million thanks to Diane , You are the Best!

We hired Diane to help provide care for my father-in-law who was ailing. Diane stepped into a situation that was wrought with family conflict and to a senior who initially thought he didn't need a "babysitter" and who was beginning to show signs of dementia. Diane was tremendously caring and provided excellent service. My father-in-law has now been moved to a care facility, but Diane was able to fill the gap while we worked through this transition. So thank you Diane, and for anyone else who has a senior at home, take a minute to check out what Diane has to offer. You'll be so glad you did!

I can't say enough about Diane she was a Godsend for my family at an extremely difficult time. Diane stayed with my Dad evenings and overnight allowing us to go home and get some rest in our own beds. Dad was not easy to get along with, but Diane won him over in a matter of minutes, this was not just because of her bubbly personality and cheerful nature. Dad felt that she was a competent care giver, that she was good at her job and that he was in good hands with her. This is high praise from My dad a former soldier and police officer who had no tolerance for inefficiency! I highly recommend Diane as a caregiver, she truly does care and nothing fazes her, she is capable in dealing with any situation and we trusted her implicitly. She is sweet natured and can get along with anyone!

We came across an idea to have micro nutrient smoothies given to Mom (at certain times of each day) to help her memory problems. We had heard that Diane offered services to help seniors and was flexible with her services offered. What we didn't know was the personal touch, the care that she puts into everything she does. She treats our Mom like her own family. Even when Mom really didn't want to take the smoothies, Diane found a creative way to encourage Mom to take them. Mom looked forward to Diane's visits and the fun, new drinks each evening. No one else could have done this for us. She is professional, honest, kind and loaded with integrity. Many Thanks....we would recommend her to everyone. She is capable of so much.

Diane became family when she did companionship care for my mom Theresa. She made my mom feel special - she curled her hair and polished her nails, and took her for walks and paid special attention to her, when we couldn't be there. She also became our family's eyes and ears at the nursing home - relaying daily updates via email about 'what the doctor said', how much my mom was eating and drinking - and letting us know how mom was doing. Diane's caring personality and her communication skills are top-notch. Our family could not have been happier with her service.
- Sincerely Maureen K.
